DAVID VS GOLIATH (FINISHED)

As I mentioned earlier this story of David and Goliath is one of my favorites. Since the story and illustration mean so much to me I just wasn't satisfied with my earlier version. After some playing with color and other ideas this is the newest version.

DAVID VS GOLIATH (w.i.p.)

Since this story is one of my favorite bible stories I've held off on illustrating it until I could really give it my all. With that said, I probably will go back and continue playing around with different aspects of this illustration to make it as good as possible, but for now, I wanted to share what I have so far.

Please see the completed version to see how much I really did get around to changing. FINISHED DAVID VS GOLIATH

Thanks for "Swinging" by

Ok OK
So "TOON!" guessed it and knows me and my cheezyness well.
It was a spidey illustration I had promised for coming by.

This is the last of my DAN SCHOENING fan art. His drawings are so fun and great I couldn't help but color them.

Anyway, here it is... hope you enjoy my colors as much as I enjoyed his drawing.
Below is his original drawing

Carlos Meglia Tribute

Carlos Meglia Tribute:

He deserved a tribute so I drew this up today in his Honor.
God Bless you and thank you for all your inspiration and amazing work.

If you read my previous post then you know that the world lost an amazing artist today.
He was one of my greatest inspirations.

If you look at my work you can see the influence, especially in the eyes.

For the last few weeks I've been working on some character designs and was using his work as my inspiration. So reading this news today and looking over to my left at all the monster world and Superman Tarzan and more of his great work that I've been blessed to collect, I just couldn't stop thinking about how much this sucks.
He was truly an inspiration to me and so many others. My prayers go out to all his fans, friends, and most importantly his family.

Carlos Meglia

This morning I logged into deviant art and read a journal entry that caught me by surprise. Edgar Delgado wrote that Carlos Meglia passed away. I couldn't believe it so I went to Francisco Herrera's blog because I know that they are good friends. I read his post and man... Im crushed.

Carlos Meglia is and will always be a huge inspiration to me. I absolutely love his work. If you don't know of him its because he mostly does work in europe and latin america. But if you search hard enough you can get your hands on some US stuff that he has done. Anyway, I wanted to pay my respects to this amazing artist. My prayers will go out to all his friends and more importantly family.

If you care to see some of his work this is a link to his blog, Carlos Meglia

Please keep his friends and family in your prayers.

more colors

As I mentioned yesterday I stumbled onto a great artist's page and was inspired by his artwork.
This is another one of his line drawings that I took the liberty of coloring. If you go to his page Dapper Dan you'll see that I'm not the only one that was inspired enough to get to coloring his work and I'm glad he doesn't mind other artist coloring his work.
Anyway, I hope you dig it.
With that said here it is...

I wanted to keep that dark noir feel from the original Batman animated series. I also wanted to keep Batman's shadow subtle, sneaky like he is. I really enjoyed playing with the lighting and subtlety in the colors to make the commissioner and two-face pop out in the foreground.

Thanks for stopping by and remember to "SWING" by tomorrow (wink, wink - you'll have to come by to see what I mean.)

Good Posting week

So far this has been a good week of posting almost everyday.
With that said, I'd like to continue that progress. It's cool being able to come to someone's page and find something new awaiting you each day. So for the next few days I'm going to post something new as a surprise for you each day.

Todays is a switch from Xmen to Batman... More specifically Robin.

The colors were done by me, unfortunately I can't take credit for all the work.
The line art was done by a great artist who I stumbled on to on Deviant Art. He goes by the name Dapper Dan. His work is great. In fact, here's his line drawing as a sample...

Colossus

Me and Toon! were debating who the coolest Xmen is.
This guy may not be the coolest, but he's definitely pretty tuff!
